PASA’s authorities have decided to sponsor this program again to continue encouraging PASA members’ training. We successfully held the School I program in the city of San José de Costa Rica in October 2012, the School II program in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, in October 2013, the School III program in the city of Viña del Mar, Chile, in September 2014, the IV School program in the city of Asuncion, Paraguay, in October 2015 and the V School program in the city of San Juan, Puerto Rico in September 2016 within the framework of the Technical Seminars.
While we keep on working on the development of this training model for all areas of specialization our underwriters require, we will repeat the first edition so that more officers may have access to this training tool.
This is specific training that‑as far as we understand‑is not given by any university or institute in the Americas, where most of our members are currently located.
It is intended to provide knowledge on the industry for underwriters of companies that do not have comprehensive in-house training programs in place.
It is a high-impact academic course addressed to underwriters with two years’ experience or more. It is oriented towards the strengthening of their areas of knowledge and seeks to give the participants the opportunity of becoming more deeply immersed in the industry’s key management issues.
We will provide pre-course reading material and each instructor may require that the attendees participate in problem solving activities, reading tests, exams or individual or group work.
Taking into account our members’ opinions, in this edition simultaneous translation from Spanish into English and from English into Spanish will be provided during the academic program so that all our member companies’ officers may participate without language barriers.

In the last seminars held by our Association, we have successfully conducted five PASA School editions whose programs focused on surety bonds and surety insurance. On this occasion, with the purpose of further contributing to our members’ training and in order to promote the spreading of credit insurance in Latin America, we are very pleased to present the I PASA School of Credit Insurance.
This new program will be developed in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, within the framework of the XIV Technical Seminar and will cover introductory material on this product, prepared by PASA Credit Committee.
This specific training is intended to provide knowledge on this insurance for underwriters of companies that do not have comprehensive in-house training programs in place.
This first introductory module on credit insurance is addressed to underwriters with little or no experience on the subject who wish to start this activity and get acquainted with the basics of this insurance, the underwriting process and the diverse managing stages.
Along the training day, each instructor may require that the attendees participate in problem solving activities, reading tests, exams or individual or group work. We will provide pre-course reading material for the participants.
Simultaneous translation from Spanish into English and from English into Spanish will be available during the program so that our member companies’ officers may participate without language barriers.
